Volkswagen Electronic Parts Catalog (EKTA), version 5.5 ============================================================== Unzip the archive first using WinZIP or similar tool to extract the ISO disk image. Then use any CD burning software, for example Nero Burning ROM or Easy CD Creator, to make a CD from the ISO image. This file was "zipped" because the ISO is 407MB, and the compressed version is only 208MB. The install notes below are also on a "Read_Me" file on the CD: =========================== Installation notes: =========================== Run the "EPCSETUP.EXE" file from the root level of the CD-ROM. The installation should select the correct installer automatically based on your version on Windoze, and it should complete with no errors. This version (5.5) contains data up through APPROXIMATELY model year 2000. There are no prices that I know of, you need to call your dealer for that. Dealer pricing varies widely, so call several if possible, especially on expensive items! The program requires 1280x1024 screen resolution. It will run on a smaller resolution, but you won't be able to see that part of the screen, and the program won't be very useful. So plan on running it at 1280x1024 and get used to squinting (if you have a small monitor). ;) NT4 & WINDOZE 2000 NOTE: You may get a "Hardlock Not Installed" error on both NT4 and NT5 (W2K) installations. What has worked so far is this: Locate the file "lexhdl5.dll" in the ET_PROG.W95 directory on the CD-ROM. Copy this file to the ET_PROG dirtectory on your hard drive after installing, clicking "Yes" when prompted if you want to replace the existing file.
