Installation Notes for EPC Compact Europe for models: 107, 123, 124, 129, 170 and 210 Updated: December 27, 2008 This version allows you to install any or all of the models 107, 123, 124, 129, 170 and 210 in one EPC. It is the European version, that is it does not cover any North American models. =========================================================================== 1. The three files: IMAGE.CCD IMAGE.IMG IMAGE.SUB ... in this directory are created by Clone CD, which is a CD burning program. You need to copy the CCD installer (see the folder "CloneCD v4" on this server) to your computer and then install Clone CD. Then copy the three files and use CCD to burn the CD-ROM. 2a. For installation on Windoze 95, 98, NT4.0 - no special instructions are needed. Launch "setup.exe" on the CD and start the setup program normally. 2b. Installation under Windows 2000 is possible, if you use the compatibility mode and emulate NT 4.0 SP 5. The compatibility manager for Windows 2000 is in this directory as well (Windows 2000 Compatibility Manager.exe). Please note that this tool does NOT work for XP (see below). Launch the setup using this W2K compatibility tool (it will ask for the path to the setup.exe file on the CD). 2c. Installation under Windows XP is possible using the compatibility tool built in to XP. To install on XP, create a shortcut on your desktop to "setup.exe" on the CD. Right-click on the shortcut, select the "Compatibility" tab. Check the box under "Compatibility mode" and select "Windows NT 4.0" from the drop-down menu. Click Apply, then OK. Launch the setup using this "modified" shortcut. 3. Follow the prompts to first install ONE of the versions with one of the license keys below. The screen resolution must be 1024 x 768. 4. If you want to install more than one model or all models, start the setup program again and install one model after the other over the existing version (Note: the setup program will now say "UPDATE" while the setup runs). 5. The following does not apply to the parallel installation of the above models, but it does apply with regards to parallel installations of the EPC North America and EPCs Europe: No more than one EPC can be installed on one computer [(*)see workaround below]. Whatever EPC was installed most recently should work but any previously installed EPC's will cease to function. To install multiple EPC's, you need to either install them on separate computers, or have multiple boot partitions with multiple Windoze installations on a single PC, or use Virtual PC with multiple drive containers on either a PC or Mac. (*) It is possible to use a multi-boot system to install two EPC versions if (a) two separate operating systems are used (e.g. Win 98 and Win 2000), AND (b) the two OS are installed on different logical drives (partitions). This is theoretically possible with three or more EPC versions if you have such a number of OS/partitions as well. This software does work with Microsoft Virtual PC 2007, and it has been tested successfully with XP Pro SP2 as the host operating system. The software has not been tested using Windows Vista.
